Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) Related Disorders*

Psychiatric disorders that can occur together with OCD (called comorbidities) include:

  • Depressive disorders
  • Bipolar disorder
  • Other anxiety disorders
  • Tics or Tourette's disorder
  • Eating disorders
  • Alcohol or substance abuse or dependence
  • Impulse-control disorders such as skin-picking, trichotillomania
  • Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder

*Several medications are FDA approved to treat OCD and many are FDA approved to treat one or more psychiatric disorders. There are no medications approved specifically to treat OCD comorbid with other psychiatric disorders. Please discuss your treatment regimen with your doctor.
